How Does it Work?

The Process Basics

If you have a suitable property, your home will be placed on our list of available properties for Motion Picture Film and television.

If we have a request for a job for filming on your property, you will be contacted immediately, and you must respond quickly. You should be ready to allow for timely additional visits to your property. If you are then provided with an offer and you accept, you will be provided further instructions.

What Properties May be Rejected?

Unfortunately, not all homes may be suitable for filming. Generally, the types of properties that may not be good matches are:

  • Homes with no electric service
  • Properties with steep or dangerous driveways
  • Limited access private roads
  • Properties closely matching other properties already in inventory
  • Properties with too much clutter
  • Properties that cannot be modified by Set Designers
  • Properties with occupants who cannot vacate during filming
  • Properties with too many restrictions or difficulties in obtaining permits

What Will Happen to My Home During Filming?

Some movie filming homes may undergo renovations such as painting, or even adding improvements. Your belongings may be removed, and then put back afterwards.

May I Be Present During Filming? May I Meet the Actors?

Likely, yes and yes, unless there are specific stipulations outlined in advance.

How Much Can I Expect to Make?

All homes and properties are different. We can further discuss pricing.

Should I Ask My Lawyer if I Don’t Understand Something in a Contract?

If you do not understand any particular contractual language, you are within your rights to consult an experienced attorney immediately before agreeing to anything. It may be wise if you also speak to your homeowners insurance company beforehand to minimize any holdups.

I’m a Tenant. Does My Rental Qualify?

Tenants will require written approval from landlords, as landlords must agree to any contractual arrangements such as property or home modifications.
